A PROMISING NEW CHAPTER OF THE POWHERFUL CAMPAIGN

“What I liked the most was the networking part; I got to talk with a volunteer assigned for my team, and I felt very happy. I learned that during networking, eye contact and confidence are very important to make a good impression,” shared Thảo, a student who attended the PowHERful Gathering event at the British Consulate-General in Hồ Chí Minh City on 15th March 2024.

150 female students from a variety of fields in saigonchildren’s Scholarship Programme gathered to listen to an in-depth workshop from Skills Bridge about improving communication skills and expanding professional networks. They also had the opportunity to practice these skills directly afterwards with peers and volunteer mentors from companies like Intel and The Access Group.

After enjoying some light refreshments and sweet treats sponsored by Bakes French Pastry, the programme continued with a session on recognising and managing stress, led by the Special Needs Education Programme Manager of saigonchildren, to help the students learn how to take care of their mental health, specifically dealing with everyday stress.

Girls’ Gathering was not only an opportunity for students to continue networking and learning from each other, enhancing their networking skills and expanding their professional network, but also career opportunities.
