The POWHERful Campaign Officially Launches

Morning 27th April2023, Saigon Children’s Charity partnered with MSD Vietnam to organise a sharing session on the challenges faced by girls in Vietnam in education, and launch the PowHERful campaign, which aims to ignite the passion of underprivileged girls and young women across Vietnam and unlock their full potential.

The session covered some key highlights from a research conducted by saigonchildren and MSD Vietnam on almost 7,000 individuals nation-wide called “Education: Addressing the Challenges Faced by Girls in Vietnam”. The study has identified several challenges that have that can hinder girls from accessing education, prevent them from performing well in school, and discourage them from pursuing higher education or certain careers.

The study is part of the PowHERful campaign that Saigon Children’s Charity partnered with MSD Vietnam during its first phase. PowHERful aims at giving insights into girls’ challenges especially in education, at the same time empower girls to break the confidence ceiling and stereotypes to be the best possible versions of themselves. Girls’ Summit, a key event of this campaign, will take place simultaneously in Hanoi and Hồ Chí Minh City in the same year.
